ILLUMINATING CARDIAC RISKS, INSPIRING CONFIDENCE

See the blind spot before you stent.

During coronary bifurcation stenting, Side Branch Occlusion can accidentally block the artery — sometimes leading to severe heart attacks. Lumora predicts that risk for each patient, before the procedure begins.

THE BLIND CHALLENGE
As the stent deploys, the artery's own geometry can close the side branch — with no way to see it coming.
15–26%
of coronary bifurcation cases are affected by side branch occlusion.
€1–2k
saved per ICU night avoided when a severe SBO complication is prevented.
~1M
complex bifurcation procedures performed globally each year.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

Generic risk scores don't help in a bifurcation. A number for this vessel does.

SCORE

A Quantified SBO Score

A proprietary algorithm, derived from biomechanical simulation, turns each patient's lesion and bifurcation geometry into a definitive numeric risk score and visual map.

vs. generic ischemia scoring (FFR-based tools)

Designed for real-time use inside the catheterization lab, so a strategy can be tested and chosen before deployment, not after.

Early version: the full clinical dataset is not connected yet, so results are preliminary. For research and demonstration only — not a medical device, not for clinical decisions.

The algorithm didn't start in a startup. It started in a lab.

From our published study: angiograms of four patients with coronary bifurcation stenosis, with the bifurcation angle (yellow, °) and vessel and lesion dimensions (white, mm) measured directly on the images. Bayatian et al., Physics of Fluids 37, 111909, Fig. 10 · doi.org/10.1063/5.0293854

Rooted in cardiovascular biomechanics

The core technology traces back through a Bachelor's in biomedical engineering, a Master's in the numerical modeling of endothelial cell motility, and a PhD studying endothelial cell behavior under pressure and velocity wave variation.

Peer-reviewed, not just proprietary

The team ran extensive simulations to identify the exact mechanical, biological, and geometric parameters that cause SBO — then published the core methodology in Physics of Fluids.

Where the technology is headed

Currently in the advanced simulation phase, building a generalized predictive model with early preliminary results. The long-term vision: a Lumora module built directly into hospital angiography platforms, such as those from Siemens Healthineers and Philips.
